Using customer feedback, Abbott improves our systems to provide greater system uptime and ultimately improved customer satisfaction. In addition, Abbott ensures that the instruments we manufacture are designed and tested to provide greater reliability. Using a system called Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), we imitate an instrument's working environment to bring any issues to light - and prevent them becoming issues in the customer lab.

Professional Instrument Training

Abbott makes learning our systems simple for you and your staff with training programs that thoroughly explain system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, case studies and data interpretation. Since customers don't always have the time away from the lab to train, training is available to Abbott customers in a variety of ways - on-site at customer labs, periodic workshops, online and classrooms at Abbott facilities.

Abbott has hundreds of highly-trained medical technologists, with an average of eight to ten years of clinical laboratory experience, who are able to assist you with data interpretation, instrument and reagent questions, as well as other technical concerns.

E-Training

While organizations are increasingly focused on evidence of staff competency, there is a limited amount of funding to spend on employee training. To support the need for relevant training for Abbott customers, we provide easy-to-use, interactive, web-based E-Training on general lab and Abbott-specific topics such as patient safety and specimen processing. The technology can track and report results and is another way for lab staff to obtain required continuing education units (CEUs).

Explorations and Innovations™

Abbott is dedicated to its responsibility as a corporate citizen and has devoted expertise to educate the laboratory community on current scientific advances via our Explorations and Innovations web conference series. These sessions give people an opportunity to learn from world-renowned diagnostic subject matter experts on timely topics and earn required CEU credits. The audio-web cast format means that attendees don't have to travel to take advantage of these conferences and the sessions are generally posted for replay so it's easy to find one to fit into your schedule.
