Abbott Diagnostics offers online Continuing Professional Development

Every webcast from Abbott Diagnostics now comes with CPD (continuing professional development) points accredited though the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). CPD is a requirement for state registration of biomedical scientists by the Health Professions Council. Throughout June, webcast users can develop their knowledge of Hepatitis C diagnosis, learn how changes in the HIV-1 virus will affect diagnostics and patient management and improve their understanding of myocardial infarction - all from the comfort of their own desk.

These live, interactive presentations are led by prominent doctors, subject matter experts, and Abbott professionals. Important insight into industry trends, medical discoveries and health technologies can be gained all in the knowledge that your continuing education will be accredited. Registration is free and can be accessed at http://www.abbottdiagnostics.co.uk/Science/

Also available is the ‘Abbott Diagnostics Educational Programme,’ an audio web-based programme, designed specifically for continuing education needs. Importantly, Abbott is liaising with training managers from across the UK to ensure webcasts and other web-based educational products continue to meet the highest standards.

Upcoming webcasts include:

05 June: ‘Beyond B: The Changing HIV-1 Virus and its Implications for Diagnostics and Patient Management’ presented by John Hackett Jr. and Hector Bolivar, MD.

19 June: ‘Understanding the Universal Definition of Myocardial Infarction’ Implications to the Cardiologist: presented by Joseph Stephen Alpert, MD, Robert S. and Irene P. Flinn & Implications for the Laboratorians: presented by Fred Apple
